Dibakar Roy Chowdhury

Dr. Dibakar Roy Chowdhury pursued his PhD from Technical University of Darmdtadt, Germany (2008). Later he worked as a postdoctoral in University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany (2008 - 2009) and Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA (2009 - 2013). Dr. Roy Chowdhury was working as scientist (level-B) with Australian National University, Canberra, Australia since 2013 which he resigned to join as an Associate Professor with Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad, India in January 2015. His research interest deals with electromagnetics, materials, photonics and micro-nanotechnology, with special focus on studying light-matter interaction at the micro- nano- scale level. Precisely his research interests are in the areas of metamaterials, plasmonics, semiconductor physics, nanophotonics, micro- nano- fabrication and solar cells. He has been working on design, simulations and fabrication of novel devices while simultaneously exploring their applications in information, sensing and energy related fields. So far he has published around 32 papers in internationally reputed peer reviewed journals including Science, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Express, Physical Review B, Optics Letters etc. His current hindex is 15 with total citations more than 1200. His works has been highlighted by several scientific magazines such as Worldwide Science, Phys Org, Nanotechnolgy News, Nanotechnology Now, Laser Focus World, Terahertz Technology etc. In addition to them his work was highlighted in the cover page of Applied Physics Letters too.
