Kausik Basak

Kausik Basak is presently working as an Assistant professor in School of Engineering at Mahindra Ecole Centrale, Hyderabad. He graduated in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, India in 2008 and completed Master of Technology in Medical Imaging and Image Analysis from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2010. In 2015, he received his PhD from School of Medical Science and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

Mr. Basak has experience in optical imaging, instrumentation, image processing, computer vision and machine learning algorithms. His research work is oriented with optical speckle contrast analysis techniques for in vivo static and dynamic imaging of microvasculature and tissue perfusion in different physiological conditions. He has also experienced with imaging concepts related to optical coherence tomography and laser speckle imaging of tissue vasculature pattern in different parts of animal body viz. skin, retina etc., aiming to study different applications related to detection and tracking of emboli in vascular model, changes in retinal blood perfusion due to external stimuli, label free retinal angiography, characterization of cutaneous wound regions etc.
