MECsters to present a paper in Japan!


A Paper by MEC students titled ‘Transient gravity perturbations due to a buried gravitational source in a homogenous elastic half space’ has been selected for an oral presentation at the Japan Geoscience Union Conference 2019 to be held from 26th May 2019 to 30th May 2019 in Chiba, Japan. The conference has awarded a travel grant of 100,000 JPY for the presentation.
Deshmukh Aditya Nitin and Pratik Borate (Co-Author) from 4th year ME, have worked on this paper under the guidance of Prof. Ranjith Kunnath, HOD, Mechanical Engineering, MEC.

Centrale Connect Conclave 2019


MEC is proud to have hosted the second edition of Centrale Connect Conclave comprising a keynote address and panel discussion(s).
The Centrale Connect Conclave witnessed a gathering of eminent professionals, from both the industry and academia, on a single platform with the primary motive of encouraging students to broaden their perspectives on society, allowing them to use this knowledge while developing innovative solutions to real-life problems. We aim to fortify the erudition of these leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators with a sense of social awareness. We hope that this will make our students more aware of the impact of their decisions on individuals and organisations.
The theme for this year’s Centrale Connect was ‘Perspective and Perception’, with Chief Guest Sashikumar Sreedharan (MD, Microsoft India).

A futuristic synergy


Mahindra École Centrale signed a Joint Research Agreement with Japanese leader in LogiTech®, GROUND Inc. in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (AI Semiconductor Solutions) for Logistics domain.

The research will focus on the application of AI Semiconductor Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) in the field of Logistics. MEC and GROUND will undertake research with the aim of accelerating the development of the Dynamic Allocation System®” (DyAS ®), the AI logistics software that GROUND is currently developing in-house.

Mahindra École Centrale team wins the Smart India Hackathon(SIH) 2019


Students of Mahindra École Centrale(MEC), have won the Smart India Hackathon(SIH) 2019. In order to make development a comprehensive mass movement and innovate on all fronts, MHRD, AICTE, i4c and Persistent Systems came together to organise Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2019.
SIH 2019 is a unique Open Innovation Model for identifying new and disruptive technology innovations to solve the challenges faced in our country. It’s a non-stop product development competition, where problem statements are posed to technology students for innovative solutions. The 2019 edition of the SIH saw the coming together of 1 lakh+ students from 3000+ technical Institutes and 200+ organizations from across India.
35,000 teams submitted their entries for around 400 problem statements. Out of these, 1300 teams were shortlisted. Finally around 4 teams were shortlisted per problem statement and 1 was declared the winner.
MEC team “Dropout” that won the Smart India Hackathon 2019, was captained by Jayesh (Electrical & Electronics), and comprised of Rahul Kumaran (Computer Science), Hemanth(Computer Science), Artika (Computer Science), Karthikeya (Mechanical), and Soorya (Mechanical). All the students were from the 3rd year. Dr. Achal Agarwal of Computer Science Department and Dr. Bharghava Rajaram of Electrical Engineering Department were the mentors.
MEC team worked on a complex problem shared by Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals and created a world class solution. The team created a Market attractive index for pharmaceutical companies using machine learning by capturing macroeconomic(business) variables and pharmaceutical data.
